hi there and I was curious to know which vacume cleaner you prefer to use, whether it being a bagless one or one with a bag.
Well i have had the experience of using both and i prefer to use the bagless one because all the contents goes into a filter and then when your finished all you have to do is tip the contents into the rubbish as with a bag one you have to throw the whole bag into the bin and you can run out of them and have to buy more.
Which one do you like to use and why?
Bagless, because not only is it easy to dump, I save resources, less trash.
I like to wash the collector to keep the machine cleaner, so that makes it like the bag as well.
that is true, smiles.
Yes we have a bagless one also. Though the thing I don't like is how you have to really get it apart to clean the internal filters. Though mainly she does that part..
fair enough, smiles.
I forget exactly what brand I have (though Wind Tunnel sticks in my mind for some reason), but it's one of those ones specifically designed with pet owners in mind. It's also bagless. I actually have two vacuums, the big one for doing the main apartment and then one of those smaller models geared towards vacuuming hard floors. That one I use primarily for vacuuming the area around my cat's litter box for any pieces or clumps that she's kicked out. It's one of those ones with an extendable handle so you can use it sort of the way you might a broom. But since I use it primarily in my pantry that's where I keep it plugged in. ThenI also use a Swiffer Wet Jet. I used to have a Swiffer vacuum/broom type deal that my mom gave me (that description may not be entirely accurate I realize), but it must have been old because it wouldn't hold a charge for very long. My mom gave it to me because the battery didn't last long enough to make it worth trying to use it in her house. Bit like a Wet et you had to buyy these little cloths that would pick up thecrumbs and tings, though unlike the Wet Jet you didn't have to buy solution for it.
Bagless. and I prefer the ones with hose atachments.
Dyson Animal! Big investment, but amazing vacuum!
not heard of that one but cool, smiles.
I totally want one of those Dicen's. Due to Price though, I just bought a Bissell bagless. I like it allot because the canester is detachable so it's like a 2 in 1. I also have an Orick handheld that's about on it's last leg. lol We have tile and hardwood floors throughout our house except for 2 rooms. I used to have that Swiffer thingy someone mentioned but it sucked, no pun intended. lol
I thought the Rainbow vacs were a cool idea, but at $1100 that's way more than I am going to pay for a vacuum.
Basically it's a round canister you fill the bottom chamber with water (I know what you animals are thinking haha yes similar physics without the lighter), and the water is used to filter out the dirt. Can be used as an air purifier also.
You could probably see if Craigslist has one from a disgruntled housewife who paid out a ton of change for it and now wants to get rid of it.
The mechanics are pretty simple: fan, beater bar attachments and regular attachments, probably even one that would do your hardwood floors like what we have in our place now.
Anyway they were a direct selling company, where most people are driving around selling and going to sales meetings and all. Sort of like Cutco / Vector Marketing corporation: Great product, but priced to only sell on the MLM market. You know they would do better as a product if sold in stores, but they're doing it this way to support the MLM people making a living at it. I always find those types of products frustrating: good engineering, shitty marketing tactics, and so they never get popular or come down to a reasonable price.
At a store you would no doubt spend a few hundred for this one, but water as a filtration source is really good, as any doper or ex-doper will tell you. haha
I'm actually looking to get a new one. I have one that is baggless with a cord. Does anyone know if they make a good baggless and cordless one?
As for dicen my sister has one for pets and she hates it. in her words, "it sucks hardly picks up anything." That's according to my sister I don't have any experience with it.
I have a baggless and got to use one with a bag last summer and found that I rather one with a bag. you don't have to dump it after every use. Also if you can get an old one, they suck dirt out from under the carpet. They are great. i need to find myself one... They are much louder though, but thats, i guess, the trick to working...
I personally like the vacuum cleaners that use a bag, since for one thing, the bag also adds a bit of filter. I have a Kirby. Yes, it was 1100 bucks, but I bought it in 2002, and it's still just fine, so I feel that it's paying for itself. The wind tunnel vacuum cleaner is a Hoover.
Also, I never had a Rainbow, but I had something a bit similar called a thurmax. I think it had a slightly better design, and it did have a cord that would spring roll up inside the unit, rather than having to wind the cord around the cannister. It was a vacuum cleaner which used water as the main filter, and it could also be used as a shampooer. It was great, but it was also bulky and I don't know whether it wasn't built to last or if we as a family were just really rough on it. This was in the early 90's. I don't think they make them anymore.
I'm in shock leo. you my sister in law begged me to get a rainbow. as is usually the case when dealing with this individual I said thanks for sharing and we got something with a less dippy name. this goes right along with her whole modus operandi, spelling, if it's really really spendy it has to be extremely wonderful. $1,100.00 for a cleaning applianceis way above my salary range. of course this woman buys $30.00 bottles of olive oil too.
anyway.... I don't do the vacuuming in our house. ladies and gentleman, I am proud to say that I kill vacuums. every one we've had except for the current model has been murdered by yours truly. so now my dear husband does this job. yippeeee!!!! I do know that he's never been super happy with whatevaer we have which currently is an Oreck of some sort.
Oric is a great machine for being really light and easy to maneuver, but that's where the greatness ends. I was a sucker once and bought one. When I found out that a kirby guy was coming to demonstrate, I vacuumed this place for hours with that Oric. He came in and got so much crap with that Kirby that I felt like I'd never even vacuumed.
I prefer the bagless ones; saves so much fiddling around in my opinion.
I use dyson.
